Procurement Director, Co-packing and Contract Manufacturing

This incumbent of this role can be located in Europe (with the exception of Spain, France and Italy) or LATAM.

The Coca-Cola Company is seeking a Global Procurement Director of Co-packing and Contract Manufacturing. This position reports to the Head of Global Logistics Services and is responsible for developing the global strategic sourcing strategy for co-packing and contract manufacturing, including category ownership, development of a long-term sourcing strategy road map and strategy implementation.

This is a newly created role with expectations to drive pooling synergies, volume aggregation, and optimization across the Coca-Cola system with Co-Packers. You will interact directly with our stakeholders and continually challenge yourself to navigate ambiguous situations and ever-changing environments. You will add value by taking an enterprise approach, looking at the bigger picture and thinking creatively for networked solutions. You will be the point person globally for co-packing procurement and have templates available to help with new deals, while ensuring existing deals are highly managed.

Function Related Activities / Key Responsibilities

  • Scope the global co-packing and contract manufacturing footprint across the global Coca-Cola system.
  • Responsible for developing the global strategic sourcing strategy for co-packing and contract manufacturing.
  • Be the subject matter expert and serve as the global point of contact for all interfaces with internal stakeholders (i.e. Operating Units, Procurement, Logistics teams, etc…) to align on the category strategy, TCO and continued growth of existing and new products.
  • Establish a strong Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program, lead supplier negotiations and develop a global contracting strategy.
  • Identify category risks and develop comprehensive risk mitigation/business continuity plans
  • Execute strategic sourcing initiatives with cross functional teams (OUs, SMEs, Global and Regional Procurement)
  • Perform detailed data analysis to identify new cost savings opportunities within the category.
  • Manage the performance of key suppliers aligned with stakeholder expectations and work collectively with those suppliers to develop new/global collaborative initiatives.
  • Identify new suppliers capable of meeting business requirements, increasing competition and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with legal on contract negotiation and drafting and execution, including scope, quality, time and cost of service and other contract terms and conditions.
  • Develop and maintain global co-man/co-pack market data, knowledge and insights
  • Build a world class co-man/co-pack strategic sourcing capability, including attracting and developing the team

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent curriculum. Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • MBA Preferred.

Related Work Experience

  • 10+ years of demonstrated progression with co-packing / contract manufacturing and/or multinational FMCG company.
  • Global experience / Matrixed environment / Enterprise System experience due to the complexities and challenges of the role.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills
  • Exposure to new technologies and trends related to co-packing and contract manufacturing
  • Business development and/or operations experience from a leading F&B co-packer/co-man, and/or
  • Co-man/co-pack strategic sourcing experience from a global FM
  • Ability to influence a diverse set of global stakeholders based on an opportunity value case
  • People management experience
  • Travel Required: up to 50%
